Truth

What is truth? Can you really define it?
Some people may think truth is fact or it is something true. Is there any definite truth?
It's all based on perspective and that comes from all of our senses. But can or senses really be trusted? We see things that aren't there, hear our name in a crowd when no one called it, and blind folded we would probably confuse so much with touch, taste, and smell. So if we can trust truth can we trust ourselves to create it?

The dictionary can define it as conformity to reality or actuality; a fact that has been verified. I think truth is belief. What you believe to be true is truth to you. For some people god is a fact and no denying it. Some people think evolution is fact and it's obvious. So fact can easily be discredited. There is no way to be a 100% unbiased so truth is automatically opinion.

So is there absolute truth out there?

  1. There is absolute truth, but i believe that truth is something that you find for yourself.

  2. I don't think there is any absolute truth out there. Even something as simple as saying the sky is blue may not be a fact of reality for all of us. Think of people that are colorblind. To them the sky may seem purple or green. Truth can be based on religion as well. Like you said in some religions you may believe that hell is a real place and that it is in fact true. In other religions people may think that it is a fake place.
Our senses can sometimes trick us in the sense that what we perceive may be the truth to us. People perceptions vary though because no two people see them same thing, hear the same thing, or taste the same thing. Everyone's senses are truthful to them but I believe that truth is automatically opinion and there is no absolute truth out there.

  3. I totallu agree with you that the truth is your belief. Because a lot of people only like to believe what they want to believe. And then if they believe enough they will start to think that it is actually true. But is it the truth in reality. If somebody reads something in a article about someone about 90 percent they will believe it and don't even know anything about what the article is saying. So i agree with you 100 percent.

  4. You know thats a good question. I don't know if there is such a thing as "absolute truth" but there is truth out there. even today that is scarce it is impossible to tell the truth all the time, everyone lies even if they don't realize it. We could tell someone something that maybe completely wrong but we don't know it, they may believe it and tell someone else, thats how rumors get started. no one really does know what is true until it is absolutely proven. Like when people used to think the world was flat and saying it was round was a lie. Today we could think that it is impossible for us to be the only creatures in the Milky Way and everything else is not the truth but who knows it very well could be.

  5. I do think there is an absolute truth, although the general public may switch stories or your mind may percieve it differently there is always a logical truth. For example, If a man is caught on tape beating a child, is that not true? No of course it is because it is right before your eyes.
